Education Scotland

Education Scotland is the Scottish Government agency charged with developing and supporting national education policy and other related policies eg Developing the Young Workforce.

Primarily (and originally) an agency which supports teachers and early years practitioners with resources and examples of good practice on the National Improvement Hub, Education Scotland is also the inspecting body which inspects schools and early learning and childcare centres (with the Care Inspectorate).

Education Scotland's remit is large - it includes encouraging parental involvement and family engagement in children's learning - as well as the delivery of Curriculum for Excellence, Scotland's national curriculum for three to 18 year olds.  Visit the Education Scotland website to understand more about its work here.

Parentzone, the section of Education Scotland's website dedicated to parental involvement, is here. The National Improvement Hub can be found here.
